Guns, Drugs and Tax-Cuts
As the Liberals self-destructed in our most recent elections, they showed us the face and voice of desperation. That desperate face gave birth to the accusation that Conservatives would bring the plague of “American-style tax-cuts”. This statement begs an explanation for people anywhere else on earth, or for extraterrestrial beings monitoring the uncertain progress of mankind. The author of this particular Liberal slur, meant for us to draw an association between tax-cuts and say … unbridled use of drugs, a culture of gun-toting violence, jingoistic American adventurism…all the ugly-American baggage.
Imagine… guns, drugs and unbridled tax-cuts, the banes of declining civilizations.
Well, I have not yet heard this accusation resurrected, but the yelping has just begun. The Conservatives have only begun to push their proprietary tax re-allocation agenda, of which one trial balloon was the tax-splitting plan for couples. Only in Canada is the social climate of such nature as to give anyone hearing negative statement about tax-cutting, food for thought rather than a loud guffaw. So it was not much surprise to hear the bleating from Windsor’s NDP stalwarts, and the tripe emitting from Melanie Deveau of CKLW.
Miss Deveau was asking a news source what income splitting might “cost”. To the answer $5 billion she sneered in disdain, and asked, ” Where is it going to come from?”
There are two things to note here. First, the return of money to the taxpayer is not a “cost”. If I lose money one day and find it the next, returning it to my pocket does not constitute an expenditure. The socialist/dipper/Libs throughout this land should burn that reality into their brain. IT…IS…NOT…YOUR…MONEY. Only if you keep it and let the adscammers or boondogglers or gun registrationits, and such, burn it, will it be spent.
Secondly, where will it come from, is an easy answer. From the same place every time - our pockets. In fact this money has already been taken from there, and “God willin’ and the river (of idiots) don’t rise”, it will be detoured back into them.
No fuss, no muss, no expense to anyone.
