A Mission to Find a Conservative Planet
Initially I presumed that Ignatieff’s allusion to a conservative planet was little more than the ravings of a liberal mind. You know, even liberals are afraid of some bogey man. Imagine the fear that must petrify the liberal thought processes when they envision a War of the Worlds type invasion from a conservative planet. But now it seems that such a planet may actually exist. How else to explain the actions of New Brunswick premier Shawn Graham. It is obvious that in the midst of planet wide liberal lunacy, Mr. Graham has just landed in time to enact intelligent tax reform which aggressively decreases personal and corporate taxes.
How do I know that this is intelligent reform? Easy! It suffices for one to compare that strategy to the continuing flailings of Ontario’s Liberal government. Here we are still pursuing the distinction of becoming Canada’s high-tax, have-not, green la-la land. In Ontario everyone with a propeller beanie on his head, will be able to connect to Smitherman’s "smart grid" and sell excess electricity to the province, which will then deliver stupid prices to the Ontario electricity consumer. To which of these two provinces will the aspiring entrepreneur want to migrate?
We need to find out where premier Graham comes from, because it sure isn’t Canada. Canada is a place where rabid liberal attack dogs like Dan Gardner and John Moore find time away from the economic realities challenging our federal government, to smear the religious beliefs of some individual MPs. And left wing rags like the Toronto Star and Globe and Mail pour fuel onto this fire, at a time when partisan inquisitions should be on the back burner as we fight an economic firestorm.
The biases of left-lib pundits are no surprise to anyone, as is their determination to tear down the conservative government, brick by brick. What is frightening is that there is no corresponding scrutiny of the incompetent performance of the McGuinty government. To all appearances, they are perfectly content to allow the provincial eco-wackos that have taken over, lead us to the edge of the precipice.
What we really need now is Captain Kirk to beam us out of here and lead us on a mission to find that conservative planet.

Iggy should know about “outer space”
after all - he did say he was “from mars”!!
From the “Rights Revolution” by Michael Ignatieff
“In some sense, these lectures are my attempts to catch up with the turbulent history in the very years I was abroad. So it may read oddly to those who have lived these years in Canada, who fought or watched the battles described in these pages. To them this book may seem like a report from a visitor from a distant planet. I want to alert readers that I am a Martian outsider. Martians can never hope to grasp the tacit of real human beings. On the other hand, they sometimes see things that real human beings fail to notice. ”

There is a real assault taking place on the Conservative government. As soon as Harper talks about the economy the left leaning news media trot out whoever they can find that will disagree with the PM. Intent to sow doubt in the minds of Canadians that the PM has control of the file. The reporter at the G&M bushwacks a cabinet minister over religion. Why? It worked on Stockwell Day. Maybe it will work again.
Virtually everyday we see gushing media reports on Count Iggy. How he is so much smarter than the rest of us. If he were PM things would be so much better because he has all the answers. Iggy is simply another Liberal snake oil salesman who will say or do anything if he thinks it will get him elected. Unfortunately for the Liberals Canadians had 13 years of do nothing Liberal government and it will take some convincing for them to give them another shot at the golden goose.

The left wing media forces in this country are slowly killing themselves with their constant pandering to the views of the social engineers and their leftist cohorts. They haven’t yet fathomed that their run as arbiters of social consciousness has passed. The public mood has shifted away from the pocket-picking paradigm of the social elitists to the more plebeian concerns of the average person on the street. The CBC will be the first to go and the others will, I hope, soon follow.

Powell
As the CBC’s floundering intensifies, and they remain spellbound by the dilemma they have painted themselves into, their cohort’s attacks on the Conservative party will also reach a crescendo. They cannot believe that the subject of their torment now finds itself in a position to exact revenge, and their are scared s______s.

I’m tired of Canadian journalists criticizing Harper for “abandoning” conservatism. I imagine a Conservative majority would’ve tabled a different budget. The opposition parties made themselves look foolish when they opposed the Harper government’s proposed ban on strikes by federal civil servants.
