The Tory Green Energy Vacuum
The tragedy of John Tory’s departure is not the failure of his leadership, but the party’s failure to hinder the Liberal government’s progression toward an economic precipice. Under McGuinty’s leadership, Ontario has become a runaway train, guided by social whimsy rather than economic logic, and the Conservatives have been quintessentially ineffective as an opposing voice of moderation.
Without belabouring the Liberal’s record of make-believe governance, it is essential still, to continue the call to arms on their latest quackery. Their energy plan is the culmination of McGuinty’s erratic stewardship. Having governed by photo-op for five years, while the province’s fortunes slowly eroded, he is now in the midst of a crisis in which he is poorly prepared to show leadership. Hence this grand scheme concocted as most of his others - on the back of a napkin - whose potential unintended consequences are legion. He will lead Ontario on this yellow brick road of wind and solar energy development, destroying a generation of opportunity lost to the enormous cost and waste of this plan. He will saddle ratepayers and taxpayers with a new crushing burden which will pour more water on our dampened economy and make a joke of his projected green job creation.
There is little here that I have not already said. My advice - given free of charge - is to the Ontario Conservative Party. It is high time to get over your leadership navel gazing and present some effective opposition to McGuinty’s misdirections. You are facing probably the weakest Liberal party in my memory, and yet you have been unable, as the opposition, to do anything of value for the people of Ontario. Pull up your socks, put a pit bull at your helm and don’t look back on Mr. Tory’s genteel manner. Make premier Pinocchio pay for his weaknesses. Under your opposition the premier of the 300 lies, has practically rehabilitated himself. Where have you been? You have utterly failed us. Start earning your keep.

I Cannot agree more. We need to deal in facts, not personalities. We need to present an overwhelming case for our position. Everyone has to start learning about and discussing the problems and opportunities we face. Enough of the Hollywood star crap. The US elected a star. How’s that working out so far???

even socialist mole Bob Rae finally figured out that he had to trim his expenses, how long will it take our new comrade-leader?
